Jornal da Globo yesterday interviewed Roger Waters, who is releasing a film that tells the story of his controversial Us + Them tour. A topic that we have already addressed a lot here on the 89 website.
Talking to journalist Marcelo Courrege, Waters made it clear that there is no possibility of a Pink Floyd meeting, with guitarist David Gilmour and drummer Nick Mason. “You can’t throw these two in the same bag, at least for me,” he said, noting that he is still friends with Nick.
Waters also spoke about the essence of the old Pink Floyd songs, which turns each of them into current themes, and revealed that playing in Brazil ended up being disappointed with the country, because he had the idea that it was the “Mecca of racial equality”. He says in the interview: “When I arrived in Brazil, I realized how racist the country was, I could hardly believe it and I was very depressed and disappointed”.
