Ozzy Osbourne Says: “I Don't Want to Die in America”

Ozzy Osbourne opened up about his decision to move back in in the United Kingdom. The legendary Black Sabbath frontman, who turned 73 years old last December, told the Observer he was “fed up” with the number of mass shootings in the US. He also said he doesn’t want to die in the US and be among the many artists buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

Ozzy and his wife and businesswoman Sharon, who celebrated her 40 th wedding anniversary in July, plan to spend most of her time in Buckinghamshire, UK.

Sharon stated that returning home, after so much time in California, had nothing to do with the singer’s health: “I knew people would think that. Is not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically. It’s not the United States of America. Nothing is united about it. It’s a very strange place to live right now.”

Ozzy added, “Everything is ridiculous there. I’m sick of people getting killed every day. God knows how many people were shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Las Vegas at that show… It’s crazy.”

“And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in the fucking Forest Lawn,” he continued. “I’m English. I want to go back. But if my wife says we have to live in Timbuktu, I will. But, no, it’s time to go home.”

Ozzy, who revealed his struggle with Parkinson’s two and a half years ago, reportedly asked permission to a “rehabilitation” wing in his historic Grade II listed home in Buckinghamshire. According to the Daily Mail, the extension will feature “plenty of space to stop and sit”, “discreet grab bars” and “soft non-slip surfaces”, as well as a self-contained nurse’s apartment.
