KiSS Won't End After Farewell Tour, Says Gene Simmons

Gene Simmons, bassist and vocalist of Kiss, commented on future of the band. For the musician, the group should continue to be active in unimaginable ways after the farewell tour – which should still win more 100 dates.

In an interview with the Let There Be Talk podcast (via NME), Simmons admitted to being looking forward to Kiss’s next steps and recalled where the last show of the End of the Road World Tour should take place: “No we know if it will be in New York. I have good reasons to be, but the most important thing is that when it’s the last show, it will be the last show.”

Despite the firmness in declaring an end of the group’s live works, the bassist does not plan the definitive end of Kiss: “The touring band will stop, but that’s all. Kiss will continue in other ways, which not even I thought about.

“I can think of… Blue Man Group tours, The Phantom of the Opera, with other members. There could and should be a Kiss show, live on stage, effects and all, but with something autobiographical about four idiots on the streets of New York. It would end with a celebration and performance, but without us. Although it’s okay to show up sometimes,” Gene theorized.

Why Kiss will retire ?

“The reason we stop touring is pride and respect for ourselves, in addition to of love and admiration for the fans,” said Gene Simmons on the KLOS radio show. “We don’t want to be like a world champion boxer who stays in the ring too long.”

“It’s only a matter of time before your legs can’t do it. hold on, and you lose. We’ve seen boxers who have been in the ring for too long and bands who have been touring for too long. They forget the letters and you can see the wrinkles on their faces. I mean, it’s just the nature of life as we know it on Earth,” continued the musician.
