Recently, Megadeth’s “Big Boss” Dave Mustaine answered a few questions submitted by readers of Revolver magazine and commented on his relationship with Metallica frontman James Hetfield. In his response, Mustaine took the opportunity and talked about the episode where Hetfield felt insecure on stage, during a presentation in Belo Horizonte, in May of this year.
“I saw what happened to James on stage. I was sad to see that, even though our relationship has been love-hate over the years,” Dave said. “The reason I always spoke well of these guys it’s because I like them. If I didn’t like it, I just wouldn’t care”, he pointed out.
“James was always a person I liked to play with. I wish things hadn’t ended the way they did, but things are as they are. I was stupid to take my dog – Note: Mustaine took one of his dogs to Metallica rehearsal, with that, the dog ended up putting its paws in the car of Ron McGovney, the then bassist of Metallica, which led James Hetfield to kick him – and I was even more stupid for having thrown a punch [em James]”, declared the musician.
“I have deep respect for him and his way of playing. I hope he knows that there are a lot of people like me who like him as a person and don’t mind him being in Metallica.” be seen in the player below:

The first song to be released from The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! it was a fierce, typical Megadeth song, We’ll Be Back. She was joined by We’ll Be Back: Chapter I, an epic action short that chronicles the journey of Megadeth’s mascot, Vic Rattlehead. Produced by Dave Mustaine, We’ll Be Back: Chapter I is a story of bravery, personal sacrifice and the strength to survive. It was the first part of a trilogy of videos preparing the arrival of The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!.
The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! consolidates a furious return to form for Megadeth, which began with Dystopia, which won the Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2017. The new album advances musically and marks Dave Mustaine’s recent triumph over throat cancer. Bringing Megadeth’s visionary leader and sonic architect together with co-producer Chris Rakestraw (Danzig, Parkway Drive), the same duo who directed Dystopia, in 2016, the work was recorded at Mustaine’s studio in Nashville, Tennessee, with guitarist Kiko Loureiro and drummer Dirk Verbeuren. Bassist Steve DiGiorgio came in temporarily to record the album; at the start of the current tour, James LoMenzo has joined the Megadeth family as permanent bassist.
Featuring some of Mustaine’s strongest compositions, while also incorporating compositions from rest of the band, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! brings together everything that is exciting and different about the group. From the fury of Night Stalkers (with the legendary Ice-T) and the first single We’ll Be Back, to the more melodic and less fast-paced Soldier On!, through the very personal title track, with its involving twists.
The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! fuses the riffs, fiercely intricate solos and the innovative spirit for which the quartet is known; all this with signature instrumental virtuosity and the sardonic growl typical of Mustaine. This album combines all of the overwhelming musical powerhouses that have made Megadeth so many times a disruptive force in metal and also a revered icon of the genre.
Megadeth recently revealed their roadmap for the web. 3.0, offering expanded experiences to the Cyber Army fan club.
